This collection of paintings is a heartfelt tribute to Ukraine, encompassing its resilient history and its ongoing journey of resilience. The artist portrays a Ukrainian woman adorned with a poignant, bloodied floral wreath, cradling a dove of peace adorned with the blue and yellow colors of the national flag. She also carries a vibrant blue wreath and a sunflower, symbols that resonate deeply with the nation's spirit. The figure of this young woman serves as a powerful symbol of Ukraine's past ordeals—its invasions, occupations, and enduring struggles. The suffering experienced by Ukrainian women is intrinsically intertwined with the suffering of Ukraine as a whole—this is the profound message the artist seeks to convey. With each attack, invasion, annexation, and struggle, Ukraine painstakingly "pieces together" its identity, forging a path towards self-discovery and strength.
